Join a bunch of turkeys duning for Thanksgiving! 🦃🏜️
A group of us will be spending Thanksgiving weekend out in the Algodones "Glamis" Dunes near Ogilby, camping, riding ATVs, exploring the dunes, and generally getting stuffed & stuck in the sand.
📅 Wednesday, November 25 – Sunday, November 29
📍 Ogilby • South Side of the Algodones Dunes
⚡️ All vehicles & good people welcome!
This isn't an EV-only adventure. There will be Gas-powered vehicles, EV's & sand toys. Bring your friends, family, and your favorite four-legged dune companion.
🏕️ Camping
We'll be doing free dispersed camping in the sand near Ogilby. No reservations, no campground — just come prepared to be self-sufficient and enjoy the desert.
Prefer something with a few more amenities? Gold Rock Ranch Campground is nearby and may be a good alternative, especially for EV owners looking for an electrical hookup.
🔌 EV Charging
There isn't DC fast charging right in the dunes, so plan accordingly. El Centro, Dateland, and Yuma provide charging options before or after heading into the desert.
And remember: duning can absolutely destroy your range. 😆 Arrive charged and leave yourself plenty of cushion for getting back to civilization.
🏍️ Bring the toys!
ATVs, UTVs, dirt bikes, trucks, Rivians — whatever you like to get dirty with. If you're not riding, that's cool too. Come hang out, explore, watch the action, enjoy the campfire, and eat some Thanksgiving food in the desert.
There won't be a rigid itinerary. Come for the whole weekend, come for a day, or just swing by and say hello.
Eat. Ride. Dune. Repeat.
